Plant Care Guidelines

Adaptation:  Zones 2 through 10.

Light:  Full sun to part shade.

Soil:  Any good, deep, well-drained garden soil. When choosing a planting site, pick an area that will handle the ultimate spread and height of the tree.

Fertilizer:  Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer according to label directions.

Water:
How much: Apply enough water to wet the soil 3 to 4 feet deep. To determine the proper amount of water for your soil type, see How Much Water to Apply.

How often: Maples prefer moist soil. Water when the soil is moist but no longer wet 4 inches below the surface. For more information about watering, see About Watering.
